The exhibition arrived in The Netherlands and was officially opened in the “Centrale Biblitheek Den Haag” , the Municipal Library of The Hague , by the Vice Mayor Mrs Louise Engering on 18th May 2004.

Preceding the official opening a debate was organised opened by Mrs Gerda de Munck-Gootjes, Treasurer of UEF Supranational, and chaired by the President of European Journalists Mr. Helmut Hetzel, who expressed his journalistic views on the enlargement, the European Constitution and the forthcoming European Elections. Dr. Erwin Kubesch, Austrian ambassador in The Netherlands elaborated on the role of Austria in the enlargement and upcoming enlargement of the EU. A vivid discussion arose from his speech as to the entry of Turkey into the EU. Mr. Wytze Russchen a young candidate in the European Parliament Elections expressed his thoughts on why he was a candidate and what he would like to pursue when elected. Unfortunately Mr. Bob van den Bos , MEP , had a car accident and was too late to participate in the debate.
